The 5th annual NEURON satellite meeting will bring together a panel of leading neuroscientists, speaking on a range of topics related to the development and function of representational maps in the nervous system. The topics that will be covered include map and circuit development, sensory maps, spatial maps, map plasticity, cognitive maps, and map rewiring in the context of disease. In addition to the talks, a poster session will provide an opportunity for students and post-doctoral fellows to present their work.
We are pleased to be hosting this meeting on the UCSD campus. On the Friday following the NEURONs on the Map meeting, UCSD will be hosting special symposium in honor of Carla Shatz: Fire together, wire together: the development and plasticity of neural circuits.. This symposium synergizes well with the themes of the NEURON meeting and will highlight recent advances in our understanding of the development of functional circuits. Speakers at the symposium include: Tom Jessell, Dennis O’Leary, Jerold Chun, Corey Goodman, Anirvan Ghosh, Rachel Wong, Marla Feller, Ed Callaway, and Allison Doupe. Registrants for the NEURON meeting are invited to attend the Shatz symposium on Friday November 2nd, 10am-5pm at the Weaver Center, UCSD. There will be no additional cost for attending this symposium.
We are pleased to be hosting the NEURON meeting on the UCSD campus, and are offering a special registration rate of $125 for UCSD affiliates. This offer is limited to the first 100 UCSD registrants and will include as a special bonus a one-year subscription to NEURON.
